WrestleMania 33

With WrestleMania 33 all set to invade Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida this coming Sun., April 2, 2017, live on pay-per-view (PPV) and the WWE Network, it's time to go about making predictions for the biggest show of the year. The match card is filled out and our staff of learned blowhards will give their best guess on who is going to emerge victorious this weekend.

The result of the battle between the big dogs may seem like a forgone conclusion, but with The Undertaker, nothing is for certain.

No other match on the Wrestlemania card may elicit more fan reaction than Roman Reigns versus The Undertaker. While the WWE would like you to believe that this match is about who’s “yard” it is, the perception is that Roman should destroy Undertaker and be doused in an everlasting wave of boos. The result would undoubtedly turn The Big Dog into a huge heel, right?

According to a new report, WWE is planning for The Undertaker versus Roman Reigns to main event Sunday's WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Sean Rueter of CagesideSeats.com), The Deadman against The Big Dog is the "very probable, if not for sure main event."

Meltzer did add the caveat that WWE's regular changing of plans could lead to another match headlining.

Only one Superstar can run the yard in WWE, and at The Ultimate Thrill Ride, WrestleMania 33, the world will find out whether that distinction belongs to The Undertaker or Roman Reigns.

The showdown between The Phenom and The Big Dog, now confirmed for tomorrow, brings into conflict the most dominant force in WrestleMania history and arguably the most powerful competitor in recent memory.

The Undertaker has been WWE’s unofficial gatekeeper, enforcer and overseer for more than a quarter-century, regardless of his championship status at any given time. However, after Reigns ousted The Deadman from January’s Royal Rumble Match and then told the imposing legend that WWE is now his yard on the March 6 edition of Raw, it became clear that The Undertaker took issue with Reigns’ emboldened outlook. The evidence came in the form of a ring-shaking chokeslam that nearly put The Big Dog through the canvas.

Reigns has achieved a stunning number of accolades in WWE at a breakneck pace, but defeating The Undertaker at The Show of Shows would launch him into WrestleMania infamy and solidify his status as “The Guy.” Over the course of his 24 WrestleMania appearances, The Deadman has lost only once, against Brock Lesnar in 2014, and as the WWE Universe knows all too well, The Undertaker takes on an almost supernatural power when competing at The Showcase of the Immortals.

For nearly three decades, WrestleMania has been The Undertaker's playground, a grand stage on which he destroyed and demolished any unfortunate soul in his path. With a sparkling 23-1 win-loss record, including 21 straight victories, it is safe to say no one has approached his reign of excellence at The Showcase of the Immortals.

There is one Superstar, though, who is mounting an impressive streak of his own and will look to add to it by defeating The Deadman Sunday night in Orlando, Florida.

Roman Reigns is 3-1 at the spring spectacular, his lone loss coming in controversial fashion in a 2015 match against Brock Lesnar that turned into a Triple Threat Match when Seth Rollins cashed in a Money in the Bank opportunity.

Can Reigns usurp WWE’s Phenom at WrestleMania, or will The Undertaker prove he is still the biggest dog in the yard?
